About Me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Approved Supervisor (LPC-S) as well as a Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) Certified Practitioner. I also have extensive play therapy training.

I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Armstrong Atlantic State University, in Savannah, GA in 2010 and a Master’s of Education degree in Community Counseling from the University of Oklahoma in 2012. During my graduate training, I completed an internship at the Cleveland County Juvenile Detention Center working with adolescent males and females with various criminal charges and delinquency issues.

I also held a Graduate Assistantship at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center Child Study Center working with infants and children prenatally exposed to drugs and alcohol. There I conducted developmental assessments and observed several Parent-Child Interaction Therapy sessions.

Following graduate school, I began my career as a counselor in a residential treatment facility for children and adolescents with significant emotional and behavioral difficulties. There I provided both individual and family therapy for ages 7 to 17. I served as a counselor for 3 years and then as the Chief Executive Officer for 5 years.

I began a part-time private practice in July 2019 and transitioned to full-time private practice in 2021. I obtained my certification in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) in 2021 and completed training for PCIT for Toddlers in 2022.  I continue to work full-time in private practice and am completing the training courses required to become a Registered Play Therapist with an Infant Mental Health Endorsement.

Although I am trained to work with all populations, I have developed an expertise and passion for working with children, adolescents, and their families in addressing the following areas of concern:

•  Anxiety and depression

•  Social skills training

•  Childhood chronic illness

•  Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

•  Divorce reaction, parent-child reunification

•  Coparenting and conflict resolution

•  Anger, aggression, and defiance

•  Suicidal ideation and self-harming behaviors

•  Homicidal ideation and threats of harm to others
