Amy has provided family reunification services to more than 20 children and their families over the last five years. Because there are no standard protocols or certifications available for family reunification, Amy has developed her own method of conducting reunification by reading evidenced based research articles, parenting, co-parenting, and family systems books, piecing together relevant trainings, and building on the strategies and techniques she has learned while guiding families through the reunification process.
Amy’s process is semi-structured, transparent, and involves the whole family. Services include individual and family counseling sessions for the children, parent-only sessions, and collaboration with other behavioral health providers involved in the families’ care, teachers/day care workers, the guardian ad litem, etc. Amy does not provide reunification services to families without an active guardian ad litem on the case.
